In connection with the fact that the name of the scientific and technical journal was changed from "Electrical machine-building and electrical equipment" to «Electrotechnic and computer systems"  the journal was re-registered and added to the list of the Professional Editions of science.

The journal has been published since 1965 by the publishing house "Engineering", Kyiv, publisher - Odessa National Polytechnic University.

Odessa National Polytechnic University has scientific schools, post graduate and doctoral studies, three scientific specialized councils on 7 specialties connected with the subject area of the journal.

1) 05.09.01 - Electrical machinery and apparatus.
2) 05.09.03 - Electrotechnical complexes and systems.
3) 05.13.05 - Computer systems and components.
4) 05.13.06 - Information technology.
5) 05.13.07 -  Automation of managerial processes.
6) 05.13.12 - Systems of automation of the design work.
7) 05.13.23 - Systems and means of artificial intelligence.

Journal  “Electrotechnic and computer systems” is  listed in the reference database of the Ukrainian abstract journal "Dzherelo" of  V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.

Abstracts of the journal are announced in Russian Institute of scientific and technical information, Moscow, as well as on its Web site - (http:www 2.viniti.ru).
